Questions to Ask a Baker: Do you have any photos of previous designs?
The idea is to see the bakery's actual work, not to look through generic picture books with designs they may never have created.

� Can we have a taste test?
You may have to wait for a day when they are making cakes, but the best bakeries will offer you a free taste test.

� Are there any extra charges?
Some bakeries prefer to break down the charges for almost everything. these items may include: fillings, complex decorations, silk or fresh flowers, delivery, set up, cake plates, columns, and more. Find out exactly what these items will cost and get a written proposal.

� Who will decorate the cake with fresh or silk flowers?
If you prefer this type of decoration, find out how the flowers will be provided and who whill decorate the cake. Some bakers can purchase the flowers and decorate it themselves. Others will get the flowers from your florist.

� How far in advance is the cake prepared?
This may be a delicate question to ask, but you will want to know how fresh the cake is that you are buying.
